There have been at least 5 historical phases in the ongoing conflict with the “West”:

• The Byzantines– From the time of Tabuk until the Conquest of Turkey
• The Spanish– From around the conquest until the destruction of al-Andalus
• The Crusades– From the invasion of Palestine until the victory of Salahuddeen
• Colonialism—From the fall of Spain until after World War II
• Globalization—An adaptation of colonial imperialism, officially beginning after WWII until the present, utilizing the neoliberal strategy

Throughout every stage of this conflict, business and material interests have always been major factors in the motivation of our enemies. They have used control of trade routes, slavery, riba, monopolies and so on, to undermine and subjugate our societies. Business has always been a method of warfare and domination, and that is more true today that at any other time in history.
