We are coming to an end of a particularly naive period in human history during which, remarkably, people actually believed that all you have to do is tell power what you want and they will give it to you. That is; the Western political concept of democracy. Perhaps one of the most mind-bogglingly blatant scams we ever fell for.
There is no recourse for the population, no legitimate system of checks and balances, internal to the power system. Accountability and influence can only be imposed upon the elite by means of their interests.
We have been told for years that “money talks”, but we have failed to understand how that truism can empower us rather than disenfranchise us of all political power. Talking the language of money does not necessarily mean that you have to possess it to be heard.
Talk to power in the language of THEIR money.
Target investment, target share values, target profitability.
They will listen.
