The US definition of a moderate Muslim, as articulated years ago by Rand Corporation, is effectively a means of criminalizing Islam, and instantly categorizing the entire Muslim population as extremists.
Even the non-Muslims who set the criterion would not qualify as moderates according to the conditions. For instance,not condoning violence, supporting democracy, support for internationally recognized human rights, belief in the equal rights of religious minorities, belief in a legal system not based on sectarian principles…on all of these requirements they fall short.
The point here is that the West requires our radicalization, not the opposite. They need us to be extremist so desperately that they set a definition of moderate that is completely unattainable.
