There are a number of tiers in the imperial order, which are actually fairly straightforward to map.
For instance, we know that there are approximately 740 multinational corporations that, through share ownership, control about 80% of the global economy, and that about half of that 80% is controlled by just 150 companies, many of which are banks and investment funds. Then above these, obviously, are the individual investors themselves.
These represent the top of the pyramid. They do not serve the interests of any nation, and are not themselves fixed to any particular country. The global flow of capital has liberated the super-rich from the restrictions of nationalism.
The lower tiers are comprised of local elites whose interests and aspirations coincide with those of their global imperial masters. This is the updated version of the British imperial system of “indirect rule”.
In Egypt, they are the military executives of #coup_Inc, and local investment firms with foreign clientele, as well as Egyptian companies, particularly those with significant foreign ownership, which are taking over state functions via privatization, or otherwise profiting from the neoliberal project. No one should be in any doubt that these collaborators are absolutely integral to the conquest of the country.
And no one should be in any doubt that the conquest of Egypt is exactly what is happening
