We do need to recognize the reality that the #Zionists have not, and won’t ever, abandon the goal of “Greater Israel”, as envisioned by Theodore Herzl, and that this objective is not merely carried in their hearts as a dream to be passively hoped for. They have actively planned and strategized for its practical achievement since the 1950s.
The most common feature in these strategies, running through Israeli planning documents back to the founding of the state, is the idea of fragmenting the surrounding Arab countries into sectarian, ethnic principalities. It is such a basic strategy, that if is indispensable to the concept of Israeli expansion. When you see the actualization of these strategies on the ground, I think it should cause a great deal of concern, and scrutiny of the events and actors involved, even if those events are Arab uprisings, and even if those actors are mujahideen.
