Very important research that we need to consider. I have encountered a lot of Islamist brothers who think that 1.) Only liberals and communists focus on economic and class issues; and 2.) That the general population can’t comprehend the importance of economic issues.
This data shows that a large percentage of Egyptians are both anti-neoliberalism and anti-secular.
The people want Islam, and they want economic justice. When they see Islamist parties ignoring the destructive impact of neoliberalism, they will begin to turn away from them.
We don’t need to preach to the people, we need to LISTEN.
