It seems as if only massacres make us remember Palestine, while in reality, the crime is ongoing night and day, year-round, year- in year-out. The Zionists are busy in their work all the time. They have to be. That by itself is an indication of their vulnerability.
But we are in a perpetual state of reaction. They provoke and we react, they incite and we respond; they attack and we defend. We allow them to dictate to us the way we will fight them. They determine the time, place, and method of confrontation. That is a formula for our defeat.
We need to expand our understanding of what constitutes aggression and domination, and we need to respond to these new definitions with more creative and effective tactics.
The strength of our enemies is not so simple as to be based primarily on military power, and the way they fight us and establish their control is not primarily through conventional warfare. We cannot, in fact, defend ourselves adequately through traditional military struggle, nor fight them effectively by this means.
That does not mean that we can not fight them effectively, and that does not mean that we can not defend ourselves adequately, we just have to take the fight, and our defense more seriously, think more deeply, and be more proactive.
We should not wait until crises are imposed upon us before we remember we have enemies.
