It is being proposed that Abu Mazen will return to Gaza.
The PA will be in charge of border security, and they will manage the reconstruction contracts. It goes without saying that this will empower Abu Mazen to negotiate the handover of Gaza’s natural gas reserves to Israel and the Multinationals (one of the main objectives of the war).
If this happens, it is another coup. Another coup by imperial corporate power carried out by mobilizing the weapons of state military violence which they finance and control, and collaborating with the corrupt local elite with whom their interests converge.
