there is no doubt that Egypt is integrated into the global system…that means the huge multinationals are the overpowering force controlling the State. Within the State, there are competing business groups for example…the Mubarak mafia…the military..the Ikhwan (on a much smaller scale)… Sawaris..etc..so on and so on.
The only way to remove the military from this scenario is to cut off their economic interests; confine their role to what it is supposed to be, so they will have no reason to seek to manage the neoliberal process.
But understand…ultimately…the military is not the real problem the military is only involved in this situation because they have economic interests at stake even if they are removed from the scenario…the real problem will remain which is the corporate imperialism that is enslaving Egypt
