There is no doubt that there are factions among the corporate power structure who would very much like to see Egypt torn apart by civil war. Those factions were the ones who wanted Robert Stephen Ford to be US ambassador to Egypt. Presumably they are the same factions who wish to see the catastrophe of Syria prolonged indefinitely.
Generally, the machine of neoliberal imperialism is fuelled by blood; it is a familiar strategy for market share expansion. Now there are those who will say that we can follow our enemies’ agenda but use it to reach our own goals. This is self-delusion.
If you think that you can play the enemies’ game and outsmart them at it, you might want to notice that you have already proved you can’t play it better than them, by the fact that they have successfully forced you to play it.
If you believe that chaos and destruction are better than being under tyranny, you have not understood that your chaos and destruction will still leave you under the same tyranny you are under now, the only achievement being that you will have devastated your society, sabotaged the future of your children, and delivered the country completely into slavery for generations to come.
Now, understand, I am not saying don’t fight. I am just saying, fight intelligently, not recklessly. Don’t fight to cause strife, fight to prevent it.
