Any analysis of the foreign or domestic political policy of any nation that does not include a thorough evaluation of the interests of multinational corporations (MNCs) in those policies, is inherently flawed. Any activist response organized on the basis of such an analysis will also, obviously, be misguided.
These corporations, and their owners, are the overriding masters of policy. To one extent or another this has always been the case. However, their power has grown drastically in past few decades to the point where MNCs have become essentially quasi-states empowered with unlimited global sovereignty. They mobilize governments and international institutions like the UN, to secure their interests.
This mobilization includes every tool available to State power, from military forces, to intelligence agencies, and even to so-called humanitarian aid. These are all instruments utilized by MNCs and their owners to pursue their corporate agendas. This means, dominating markets, securing control of resources (including labor and the means of production), and undermining any potential challenge to their complete supremacy.
The Muslim Ummah, and the Deen of Islam represent the original Globalization process; creating a genuinely international culture with shared values, lifestyle, and interests based on belief and brotherhood. The global Ummah affirms equality and the supremacy of Allah; the global corporate imperial system affirms its own supremacy and imposes tremendous inequality and oppression.
Here we have the fundamental conflict.
