There is no alternative to grassroots organizing among the overwhelmingly unaffiliated majority of the population, who neither subscribe to, nor are represented by, any party or group.
The existence of large partisan blocs is very helpful to the methodology of the security apparatus, for more than one reason. The authorities and intelligence agencies know what the parties and groups are doing, and they largely focus on this. It helps them to organize their surveillance and persecution. It also helps them to instigate division between blocs, and within parties.
There is one thing that always surprises power, and that is when people organize among themselves.
