Among these companies are some of the key players responsible for imposing neoliberal imperialist domination upon Egypt. More importantly, Vanguard itself, and the investors it serves, sits at the top of imperial power.
Disrupting the profitability, operational efficiency and share values of any of the companies Vanguard owns will send a message directly to the top of the power structure, informing them that they will not escape accountability for oppressing us, and that they must use their power and influence to support justice and in ways which do not compromise our sovereignty.
Of course they will not comply with our demands because they care about justice, but they will comply because we can ensure that they cannot do business in Egypt if they refuse.
If we develop solidarity across borders in this effort, we can ensure that they will not be able to do business in any of our lands if they refuse to comply.
Remember, whoever can disrupt a system is in a position to control it.
