Since January 25, the rebels have started to transform the revolution into an anti-imperialist struggle for independence, re-directing their attention towards the real power structure, and this has shocked and frightened the coup more than any opposition that has taken place over the past year.
In my opinion, the Coup will likely try to draw the rebels back into confrontation with the security forces, and away from multinationals and investments. At least one way they may do this is by committing acts of outrageous and indiscriminate brutality to enrage the rebels emotionally, and lure them into the type of fight for which the state is fully prepared
