Ultimately, we are trying to communicate to shareholders. There are some companies that are almost impossible to disrupt without causing hardship for the population; like energy companies.
However, because the same shareholders who have interests in these companies, have interests in other companies, we can send a message to them through their other channels of capital.
The message is simple:
Oppression is not a good investment.
No Free Trade without Freedom
No Justice, No Profit.
We need to make them understand that the conditions which make a country conducive for investment are not simply the bureaucracy and regulations that affect corporations, but the living conditions of the people.
The rights of investors cannot take precedence over the rights of the population.
