There is an argument that because the struggle is ideological at its core, our enemies will not stop in their efforts to defeat and dominate us. They will be willing to bear financial losses without end, because they are serving an ideological agenda.
This is both correct and incorrect. Of course there is no decisive end to any ideological conflict. However, there can be a balance of power As with any conflict, when one side suffers losses beyond what it can absorb, there is a retreat, or there is a conditional truce.
Just as when an ideological conflict becomes a military confrontation, there is a point at which losses become too much to bear; so when the conflict is manifested in the form of economic aggression, there will also be a point at which financial losses become too much to bear.
