Disrupting a company’s deliveries of goods to and from distribution centers is an excellent nonviolent way to hinder efficiency and overall profitability. If a company cannot meet its delivery schedule it will quickly be regarded as unreliable, and can potentially lose customers, as well as suffer damage to its reputation in the industry, which can affect share values.
If the disruption persists, the company will have to re-evaluate its viability in Egypt. Remember, one of the most important reasons multinationals are positioning themselves in Egypt is because it provides them a strategic logistics hub for penetrating the North African market. To a great extent, this hinges upon the reliability of transport within Egypt.
Bear in mind, conventional improvised roadblocks, whether using obstacles like rubbish bins, burning tires, or human chains, are more time consuming, less effective, and easier to overcome than the tactic of disrupting transport by means of disabling vehicles. If vehicles are disabled, the level of disruption is far greater, and far more difficult to overcome; and it will incur added expenses for the targeted company, which means loss in both efficiency and profitability.
Make the companies understand that their ability to deliver goods to their customers depends on helping to deliver freedom to the Egyptian people.
