Fighting to change an oppressive local regime while not confronting the multinational corporate imperial system which dominates it is like fighting to re-paint your prison cell.
If you acknowledge that institutions of private economic power exert irresistible control over state power (and you must acknowledge this reality),then it is patently irrational to suggest that you can substantially change the nature of state power by confronting it directly. Rather, logic dictates that you must confront the power which holds real existing control over state power, because that is, in fact, your government.
