It is a mistake to suppose that policies are implemented exclusively due to pressure from special interest groups, or due to vague ideological reasons. Policies are studied, analyzed, and implemented always for practical reasons, to achieve practical objectives. If we oppose a policy, it is our duty to understand the reasons behind it, and the results hoped for by policymakers.
Wherever we see a sudden intensification of aggression and animosity against Muslims in a particular area (Muslims who have always been there, but who have not always been subjected to the same level of oppression), we have to analyze the context in which these policies have been initiated, and what policymakers hope to accomplish.
To say it very succinctly, policies exist because they work to achieve a desired goal; if we oppose those policies, the only feasible way to change them is by ensuring that the policies do NOT work, and that they do not achieve the desired results for policymakers. That is a truism.
