May Allah protect you all, but please remember a few things in case you are detained:
—The police and prosecutors lie. They will promise to “help” you if you cooperate — but that just means they want you to help them make the case against you and others so their bosses will congratulate them. Nothing you say to incriminate anyone else will benefit you, so don’t, in a moment of fear and weakness, give them information about yourself or anyone else.
–Do not, under any circumstances, sign a confession
—They will beat you and torture you. Be prepared for that, and do not think you can avoid it. The primary usefulness of torture is when the detainee fears it and hopes to avoid it. From my own experience, reciting Qur’an and making adhkaar helps to nullify the pain.
–They will probably keep you on a cycle of unending renewals of temporary detention. If anyone tells you “your case will be resolved in 2 weeks, so just wait” it is just a tactic to stop you from taking any measures to fight the detention. So if there is anything you can do, don’t wait.
—Other prisoners are an important source of information to the police, so do not divulge information even to other prisoners
May Allah protect you all
