I understand that there is a campaign being initiated in Egypt to boycott certain brands of multinationals and substitute them with other brands. Someone sent me this photo of the targeted brands and their suggested substitutes.
I have not had time to research each brand, but Omo, at least, I would not recommend as a substitute. Omo is owned by Unilever, the third largest consumer goods company on earth, and a notorious enemy of freedom and independence in the developing world. Unilever should be specifically targeted in Egypt, and elsewhere, in every way possible, particularly because they have announced considerable plans for expansion in the region, using Egypt as a base
