It has been argued that disruption of multinational corporations and the interests of foreign investors should be preceded first by destabilization of the military and the interests of the army. First eliminate the power of the military, then move against economic targets; this is the suggestion.
It kind of reminds me of an old joke. “Want to know how to be a millionaire and never pay taxes? Step One: Get a million dollars. Step Two: Don’t pay taxes.”
Here we have, Step One: destroy the army. OK…That “step” is a civil war which will extend for years, ravaging the population, flooding Egypt with Muslim blood, devastating infrastructure, providing a justification for unlimited military aid from the West, and leaving Egypt defenseless and wide open for economic exploitation even more than it already is. Step One renders Step Two impossible; after a catastrophic civil war, you will be in no position to target the interests of foreign investors. You will be thoroughly crippled. You will become a subsidiary of the GCC countries, which are a subsidiary of the Kuffar.
No. The way you “destabilize” the military and their interests, is by proving that they cannot fulfill their function; proving that they cannot ensure the profitability of foreign investments and cannot enforce neoliberal dictates. You take your demands directly to the imperial rulers, and impose consequences if they do not capitulate.
