There are at least two realities which,I believe, necessitate a reevaluation of Islamism; our goals and our strategies for pursuing those goals.
The first is the reality of the Mulk Jabryy period.
There is no serious question as to whether or not we are currently living in the era described by Rasulullah ﷺ as the final period in our history before Allah will raise the Mahdi from among us. The end of the Kilafah ‘ala minhaj Nubuwwa was clearly defined by our Prophet ﷺ, and it was, indeed, as he said it would be. With Mu’awiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him), the ruling system adopted a monarchical nature, and our rulers became kings.
The end of the period of kingship, fairly obviously, came with the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire, and we entered the current phase, the period of Mulk Jabryy. We must, therefore, understand the nature of this period; what is possible during this period, and what is not possible, and, of course, what is inevitable.
The second reality we have to consider is the reality of overwhelming corporate power; the dynamics of the neo-imperial system in which global owners of capital collectively hold the position of emperor, and states and policy-making are subordinated to serve their interests..
If both, or either of these realities are ignored, every effort we make for Islamic sovereignty will be futile
