Import restrictions are good, as long as that is not intended to build a manufacturing base that will be used predominantly by foreign companies to make their products inside Algeria more cheaply, with the profits still flowing out of the country.

Suspending subsidies on food and fuel will not boost the economy; it will just leave the people with less money to spend, which means less consumer activity and money in circulation.

Supporting domestic business should not be at the expense of the basic needs of the population, it is not only morally wrong, it is bad economics.
