International business has mobilized its significant resources to support the Sisi regime, including the world’s largest PR company, based in the UK. So do not imagine that the global power structure has turned against the Coup, or that they are alarmed in any way whatsoever by human rights abuses in Egypt or the threat of terrorism.
Moscow will fund and establish Egypt’s first nuclear power plant, so the downing of the Russian passenger jet has not, in fact, hindered Russia’s business relationship with Egypt either.
The bottom line here is that the tactics of mass demonstrations have not worked; the tactics of targeting the security forces have not worked; the tactics of terrorism have not worked. None of these strategies impact the real existing power structure, so how could anyone expect them to work?
The only actions of the past two years that ever actually undermined the regime were the operations against multinationals at the beginning of this year. The most effective strategy has always been, and continues to be, the targeting of the commercial interests of foreign investors; disrupting their profitability and operational efficiency.
Whenever you see the word “corporate” you should read it as “colonial”. Multinational corporations are institutions of imperial control and domination. Their shareholders are your rulers. You cannot achieve liberation until you focus your efforts at destabilizing these institutions and disrupting their interests.
