It seems to me to be a peculiar idea to announce specific dates for revolutionary action, like, for example, January 25th.
I understand that the intention is to increase mobilization by a call to action on a fixed day, but, of course, this announcement instantly undermines the possibility of effective action because it alerts the authorities at the same moment that it alerts revolutionaries.
One of the greatest weapons you have in unpredictability. As soon as you announce when you are going to mobilize, you disarm yourselves of this weapon.
There are only two ways, in my view, that you can use the expectation of revolutionary action on January 25th to your advantage:
One is by using the announcement as a means of misdirection, disinformation. In other words, let the authorities expect revolutionary action on the 25th, but actually engage in revolutionary action on a different, earlier date; thus potentially catching the regime unprepared.
The other way is to use the expectations of the authorities regarding what type of action you will take on the 25th to divert their attention and resources while you engage in actions they do not expect. What I mean is; you have trained the regime to expect, basically, street protests, so that is what they will prepare for.
They are relying on what they have learned is your predictable behavior; this gives you a greater ability to surprise them.
Let them prepare for street protests, even let there be street protests, but rather than street protests being the revolutionary action, make them a diversion from the real revolutionary action you take.
Use the concentration of the security forces at the sites of demonstrations to enable you to carry out disruptive actions against multinationals and foreign investments elsewhere.
