Allah Knows Best if the rumor is true that Shaykh Hazem has suffered abuse in prison today. The story may be accurate, or may not be; but the fact that the story came out, and that there are some unreliable and suspect people who are eager to spread it, may indicate that the story (true or false) is intended to incite the Hazemoon and perhaps draw them out for arrest.
Over the last two years, Hazem is one of the few revolutionary figures whose following has grown and who has become more and more appreciated. The Hazemoon are surely among the biggest worries for the regime, it may be that this news today is an attempt to try to enrage them and make them expose themselves.
We pray for the Shaykh’s safety and release.
