So, I have been introduced to a new tactic by the Ikhwan to muzzle criticism: “It is the aim of the Intelligence services, particularly the agents active online, to discredit the Muslim Brotherhood and alienate the people against them; to pit the other activist groups against the Ikhwan, etc, etc…”
So, basically, don’t criticize the MB, because that is what the regime wants.
Look, the Brotherhood can preserve their relationship with the people by addressing legitimate criticism, and reforming , not by muzzling criticism. They have alienated people because of their own bewildering ineptitude, and this, in spite of the fact that everyone tries desperately to give them the benefit of the doubt, and self-censors their criticisms.
I have no doubt that the reggime is happy when people criticize the Ikhwan, and that they would like to see therm weakened; but this reveals a similarity of thinking between the regime and the Ikhwan themselves: that criticism weakens them.
The mature, intelligent response to criticism is to evaluate it, learn from it, and improve. Criticism is one of the most indispensable nutrients for any individual or organization to build its strength and develop. If they shun criticism, it is because they have already shunned the possibility of change; and this, not the criticism, and not the regime, is weakening them.
