It is important to note that Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, established Rasulullah ï·º as “al-Amin” long before He raised him as the Messenger. Rasulullah ï·º was already known as honest and trustworthy in his community, a someone who could be relied upon, someone who cared about people, someone with excellent manners and wisdom. After prophethood, even his worst enemies could not find fault with his character or conduct.
It is in the nature of people to be dawn to what benefits them and gives them security If we care about the Islamic project, we have to be engaged in matters that directly affect the lives of the people. Both on a local and individual level, and on the level of political policies. And this work has to be sincere, not merely an effort to win support. It has to be undertaken because we genuinely care, otherwise it will backfire, and people will feel they have been manipulated.
We have to establish ourselves as a people who bring real, practical benefit to the community; in their day-to-day lives, and in our advocacy of policies which will serve their best interests
