There are at least four steps that any Islamist party should seek to implement immediately upon entering office:
—Ban riba
—Cancel all debts accrued by the previous regime
—Nationalize all natural resources including oil, gas, and water, and provide them to the population without charge.
—Provide basic food, shelter, and clothing subsistence for all citizens
These are all policies that comply with the Shari’ah and reflect the principles of the religion, they are also critically important for the health and development of the society, and would, of course, garner massive popular support.
I would encourage any and every Islamist party to study these priorities and design a realistic program for implementing them.
