The problem is not the state, the problem is the management of the state and its policies. The problem is not the military, the problem is abuse by the military.
You have to be exact. You have to be specific. You do not solve the problem of a toothache by cutting off your own head; you do not fix a wiring problem in your house by burning it down.
In Egypt, I see two main problems, and they are connected. One, of course, is the dominating power and influence of multinational corporations over the state, and the other is the army’s stake in the national economy. I don’t think you can solve the second problem until you solve the first problem, and even if you can, the first problem is sufficient to maintain your oppression even if the army surrenders its economic power. Indeed, if the army withdraws from the economy, multinationals will take their place. So; I really do not see a way forward except by dealing with the domination of corporate power.
