I have noticed something really amusing, but kind of sad. There are actually people who find it suspicious that I post in fluent Arabic…as if learning a foreign language is an unimaginable task!
Honestly, what sort of intellect is this?
But the fact is, I am not fluent in Arabic; not proficient enough to translate my posts. I can read the Qur’an and Hadiths, but my vocabulary is very limited and my knowledge of grammar is very weak.
Al-Hamdulillah, there are brothers who volunteer to translate my writing for the Sake of Allah, may Allah reward them. That is why you will notice that the Arabic text often gets edited and updated as different translators proofread the work of their brothers. I always post first in English, unless I am re-posting something written in the past.
I mean, really? Do you think it is odd for a Western Muslim to be fluent in Arabic? The weakness of my Arabic proficiency is my own fault, but I know many brothers and sisters who became fluent in Arabic within the first few years of their acceptance of Islam. What an odd and simple-minded basis for suspicion…”he is fluent in Arabic….how? He must be an agent!”
Bro…get out of the house more.
