The basic strategic theory of Da’esh, like Al-Qaeda before them, is to intensify polarization between Muslims and the Kuffar.
They literally want the rancor and animosity of the Kuffar towards Islam and the Muslims to increase and manifest itself in even greater discrimination and violence, so that the Muslims will be forced to “choose sides”; not to choose sides between Kufr and Iman, but between Da’esh and its enemies.
They want Muslims in the West to suffer mistreatment, abuse, and ultimately expulsion, so that they will, presumably, rush into the open arms of Da’esh.
Whether you agree with this strategy or not, whether you believe it can be accomplished or not; I would ask you, is this a strategy for spreading Islam? Is this a strategy for achieving what Rasulullah ï·º prophesied, the spread of Islam as far as the day and night reach? By increasing hatred for the Deen and by forcing Muslims to evacuate foreign lands in which Islam is spreading by their presence?
You may wish to recall from the Seerah that prior to the opening of Makkah, the greatest number of people came to Islam, not because of the Battle of Badr, not because of Uhud, not because of any of the ghazawat; the largest number of people accepted Islam during the period of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah; when people could interact with the Believers, see for themselves what Islam is, and learn from the Prophet ï·º and his companions.
You may also wish to recall that when Rasulullah ï·º learned that the Quraysh were marching out to fight the Muslims at the time of the Battle of Uhud, after consulting with his companions, he ï·º decided that it was better to meet the enemy outside of the city so as to protect the property and livelihoods of the people of Madinah. Although the Prophet himself ï·º thought it would be more strategic to defend the city from within, the greater good and best interests of the population took precedence. So what about a strategy which specifically aims to increase the harm suffered by the Muslims, in the West, in Syria, in Iraq, and elsewhere?
No, this is not a strategy for the spread of Islam, it is not a strategy to preserve the blood and honor and property of the Believers; it is a strategy which agrees neither with the principles of the Deen, nor with the Sunnah of our Prophet ï·º .
So, Brothers and Sisters, I pray that you will ponder this.
