‘Ali bin Abi Talib said about the Khawarij that they use the word of truth while intending falsehood by it.
They used the ayaat and hadiths they liked to rationalize the desires of their nafs. Today the Jihadis do this too, and so do those like the Noor Party.
They begin with their desires and then search for daleel to justify them.
It is a flawed approach through which you will always get the result you want, rather than the correct result.
