In my opinion, the only potentially useful strategy to prevent Russian airstrikes in Syria would be to target Russian interests outside of Syria. Such a strategy would also coincide with the geopolitical and economic interests of the US, which could mobilize their tacit cooperation.
And by “targeting Russian interests” I am talking about the economic interests of the oligarchs, not the safety of the civilian population.
