It is not useful to restrict yourself to one particular approach, one particular tactic, all the time; whether that means always opting for civil disobedience or always opting for armed action. You have to be flexible and dynamic enough to adopt whatever tactic is appropriate and effective in a specific time, place, and circumstance.
Generally speaking, a civil approach; patient, methodical, calm, is best. Undertaking grassroots outreach, organizing, and education; building awareness and support, articulating goals, planning practical steps, and so on. But moments will come when it is imperative to act in a decisive, dramatic, and confrontational manner; and your enemies must know that you have the capability to do that, and that you will not hesitate.
