I remember a conversation I had some years ago with a prominent Khaleeji jihadi who was mocking an effort to establish a university in Somalia. “They are trying to pull people away from Jihad”, he said.
He hoped that the university would be bombed.
In his view, the utter instability in Somalia was a positive thing; it provided a place for “Mujahideen” to train and gather and plan. Never mind that the people are living in miserable conditions, never mind that their children are deprived of schools and higher education; never mind that they have no security, no stability, no prosperity, no normalcy, no opportunities. They have guns and they have chaos. What could be better than that?
This is the typical Jihadi mentality. ‘What we need to do is create conditions that will leave people with no choice but to become fighters’; as if it is better for the Ummah (and for Somalis) for Somalia to be a war zone than to be a safe stable, prosperous country. Yes, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya…the same retarded view applies. They actually want, and pursue, worsening the conditions in which Muslims live, while pretending to seek the uplifting of the Ummah. They oppose any effort to stabilize conflict zones, and thrive on crisis.
It is worth noticing, however, that we never see the Khaleeji financiers of chaos in Syria, Iraq, and elsewhere, promoting these agendas in their own countries
