This is how liberation comes; individuals in their dozens, in their hundreds, in their thousands, acting of their own initiative, independent of one another, independent of groups and parties and leaders, working and fighting and striving according to their own abilities and skills for a common goal. Diverse in their methods, maybe even diverse in their motivations, but united upon a single strategic objective. This is Open Source Revolution.
This is what happened, quietly, anonymously, over the last week and a half or so in Egypt against the IMF loan decision that was set to be issued on October 9th.
Empowered with information and basic strategic theory, people, by email and telephone, collectively but independently, delivered a resounding and uncompromising message to the International Monetary Fund and its clients that Egypt is not for sale; and the IMF flinched.
When an institution as powerful as the IMF flinches, there is a ripple effect. Governments panic. The Egyptian regime is terrified. The US,, UK, and Canada are on edge.
However many of you there were, and whoever you are, who sent messages to the IMF and to multinationals in Egypt, Walahi, you are the revolutionary vanguard. I ask Allah to make you an inspiration to others so that this achievement can be repeated and magnified and you can successfully send the IMF into full retreat, and so that you can pioneer a new strategy of anti-imperialist struggle that can potentially be used not only in Egypt, but across the Muslim world, and indeed, by resistance movements globally which are grappling with corporate domination
