Why would you not send messages to express opposition to the power structure?
If you do not understand the usefulness of warning the IMF and multinational corporations against the approval of the $12 billion loan, and against the imposition of neoliberal economic policies that will intensify the suffering of the Egyptian people, if you do not believe that such warnings can have an impact; this is still not a reason to refuse to do it.
Perhaps you believe in armed struggle against the security forces, perhaps you believe in war, perhaps you believe that confronting corporate power is not as effective as conventional methods.
OK, but, of course, at the moment, you are not waging armed guerrilla warfare, are you?
You don’t have your rebel army to swarm the presidential palace at this moment, do you?
So, even if you do not understand the usefulness of this tactic, surely you do not believe it is counter-productive; surely you do not believe that it hurts the revolutionary movement. So, just do it anyway. It will only take you a few minutes. Doing something rather than nothing will not damage your jihadi credentials…you don’t even have to tell anyone you did it.
Even if you think it is not as effective as what you really want to do; at least do something while you are waiting for the great Jihad to erupt.
You might be surprised at the result, and you may eventually be proud of having participated in what you might later recognize to be the turning point in Egypt’s fight for liberation.
