Whoever tells you that the solution is to get rid of Sisi either does not know what the problem is, or else he is just a liar who hopes to be Sisi’s replacement, and he will continue along the same path. Because, as bad as he is, Sisi is not actually the problem; just as Mubarak was not actually the problem. And I promise you that you will see this very clearly for yourselves after Sisi is removed, if you have eyes.
No one from your opposition parties, certainly no one from among the Islamists, is talking about the real problem. They are not talking about the IMF, they are not talking about the domination of multinational corporations, the subjugation of the economy for the sake of foreign investors; and they are not talking about any of the specific policies that constitute the conquest of Egypt by the global owners of capital.
It doesn’t really matter if the reason they do not talk about all of this is simply because they are stupid, or if it is because they are actually so corrupt that they want to collaborate with the corporate imperialist system for their own personal benefit; either way, it means they will follow the same path as Sisi if they enter the government.
There is no way to pursue liberation except through direct confrontation with the business interests who are profiting from Egypt’s enslavement; the interests that have subordinated the government, the interests that are making the policies.
