The prospect of de-escalating tensions with Russia, halting support for Syrian rebels, and generally adopting a more traditionally conservative, isolationist foreign policy (all of which Trump has expressed his intention to do); will make the US defense industry extremely dissatisfied. I am not sure how Trump will survive their dissatisfaction. Even if he intensifies the militarization of domestic security, it is difficult to imagine that this would compensate the defense industry for shrinking the overseas war market.
