It is ironic that Islamist opposition figures insist that the military government is strong, financially sovereign, possesses a vast self-sufficient economic empire that can challenge multinational corporations, and that it is not only independent from Western domination but, indeed, defiant of the global power structure; and that its economic policies are all its own making, and not dictated by the IMF, the World Bank, and other institutions of Western imperialism; since all of this is identical to the delusional propaganda coming from the regime itself.
