To be honest, I have not read the details of the attack at Ohio State University. But it appears to be another instance of a frustrated young Muslim who had every door of constructive activism closed to him by the proponents of extremist ideology, with the result being disaster for himself, his family, and of course, his innocent victims; as well as the entire Somali community, and Muslims generally.
Today, frankly, if you are not discussing positive, useful strategies for confronting the power structure, for influencing policies; even if you are doing nothing more than expressing your exasperation and contempt for the injustices we are seeing and living every day without suggesting rational tactics and alternatives, Wallahi, you are contributing to the cycle of destructiveness.
When you write posts that do nothing but complain and criticize and lament, you are compounding the frustration and despair of the people, and edging people closer to the intoxicant of desperation; and you do not know what someone may do when they cannot bear this anymore, but have no constructive channels through which to direct this painful energy.
