There has been a strategic theory among jihadis that destroying the economies of their enemies will cause collapse and pave the way for establishing Islamic government. I have not, and do not advocate this idea. The strategies I write about are quite different. I do not advocate tactics that will collapse the general economy; I advocate tactics that target the profitability of particular corporations in order to pressure them to support popular demands. In turn these demands will pave the way for a restoration of sovereignty and democratic government within an Islamic constitutional framework.
If you aim to collapse the economy as a whole, all you will do is drive that country into debt to international lenders like the IMF, which will dissolve the possibility of sovereignty and the dream of Islamic government will be eclipsed by the reality of indefinite enslavement to the global owners of capital.
