“What has been taken by force can only be restored by force”. This is a commonly repeated slogan by those whose imagination is limited to defining “force” exclusively to the use of weapons. But, of course, it is a trick. If we interpret “force” the way they do, then we all may as well give up, because there is no parity of access to this kind of force. So if you understand “force” this way, you are arguing against your own desire to take up weapons and fight. If, however, you understand “force” as any method by means of which you are able to coerce your opponent to capitulate to your demands; then we have something to discuss.
It is also worth noting that the “force” used against us is most often not military force; it is economic power; and even military force is largely, if not completely, subordinate to economic power as well, and it is used to advance the interests of economic power.
The Empire of Capital has expanded primarily by means of agreement, collaboration, and through the greed of local elites colluding with the greed of global capitalists; and the key factor in all of this, is that the empire is profitable for those at the top of the ruling system, and profitable for those who collaborate with it. This being the case, the definition of “force” today is, or should be, “the ability to disrupt profits”.
