You can easily know when you have swerved into an extremist interpretation of the religion when you have made it practically impossible to implement, and you have to come up with excuses to explain why you cannot live by the interpretation you are advocating.
For example, “it is obligatory to make jihad against the kuffar, and jihad means combat, and it doesn’t matter if you are outnumbered and it doesn’t matter if they have more powerful weaponry; you must do it anyway”. OK, that is completely unrealistic, and almost no one will ever do that, including those who insist that it is mandatory.
You make the religion impossible to practice. You are, in short, an extremist; reevaluate your position.
