The simple, undeniable reality is that Israel is an unsustainable colonial project. It is becoming less and less viable year after year. The Zionists do not have an infinite resource of Jews from which to draw immigrants; and they do not reproduce at a rate sufficient to keep the land “Jewish”. Their project is a dead end, and it is moving toward the end of its life cycle.
Most Jews in the world are not Israelis, and most Israelis themselves are not Zionists. The largest influx of emigrants in recent years came from the former Soviet Union, and they went to Israel for opportunistic, not ideological reasons.
The truth is that we have nothing to fear from Israeli expansion, if the so-called “Greater Israel” were to be established between the Nile and Euphrates, the Jews would make themselves a minority in that land. They are deluding themselves. There are, quite simply, not enough Jews in the world, and not enough Zionists among the Jews. Even if every single Jew on earth moved to “Greater Israel”, they would constitute a minority population; and the bigger Israel is, the smaller their population would be relative to the Arabs and Muslims.
Imagine a scenario in which Gaza and the West Bank are absorbed into Israel; Palestinians become citizens with equal voting rights, the Palestinian areas are no longer “occupied territories”, but are part of the state; when was the last time the Israelis bombed Palestinians living within the borders of Israel? The whole of the land would be eligible for development; Palestinians could vote and participate in government. The nature of the society would inevitably begin to reflect the demographic changes within a few years.
If we imagine the integration of even more land, from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and so on; the Jews would become a tiny minority. This alone would be a disincentive for Jews around the world to emigrate. The Zionists are already having trouble finding anyone interested in moving to Israel; so how much more difficult would it be for them to entice Jews to emigrate from their homes to come live in what would be essentially an Arab country? Most Jews would not go, and many Israelis would leave, and the whole project would die its inevitable natural death.
The only way for this to not be the case, is if Israel absorbs territory by means of war, and forced displacement of the indigenous populations. If the territory is absorbed through agreement, they would have no rationale for mass displacement.
At the end of the day, the Zionist project is just absurdly delusional and unsustainable. Fighting it, frankly, only prolongs its life.
