If the “liberated areas” in Syria are actually “liberated”, I wonder why we continue to have a refugee crisis.
If all or most of the rebel factions are united in their goal of establishing a glorious Islamic Khilafah, why, then, are the liberated areas ruled more by the law of the jungle than by the Law of Allah? Why are the factions still warring against one another, repressing those under their authority, imprisoning and torturing fellow Muslims? Why are children “arrested” for stealing shoes to sell for money to buy food, and sentenced to a month of hard labor digging tunnels or imprisoned with adults? Why do the liberated areas resemble the film “Gangs of New York” more than Madina in the time of the Prophet ï·º?
But, I suppose all of this is propaganda, right? Sure. Whatever you say.
The “on the ground” activist/journalists are not going to report these things because they are concerned with generating sympathy and maintaining a “good versus evil”, “oppression versus freedom” narrative. If they mention how hideous the situation is under the rebel factions, people might lose sight of how barbaric Bashar is. But I don’t agree with taking sides between barbarisms.
Basically, everyone is lying in Syria, only the suffering of the people is real.
