Absolutely hilarious!
This person sent me a friend request a few days ago, and I knew instantly it was some kind of scam.
Enemies of various sorts have been doing this with me for ages…contacting me as attractive girls and trying to chat with me because they hope to be able to make a scandal from it.
I am a fairly no-nonsense kind of person and my response is generally “I don’t use Facebook for chatting, but only as a platform for ideas and awareness”.
So perhaps they thought if they use a “celebrity” it would be more tempting.
This “girl” messaged me today., claiming to be this Mai Helmy ….”hi…how old are you. ..where are you from. .I work on the radio.. etc” to which I replied cordially and said as stated above.
I checked the name on Google, and of course the ACTUAL person has a real Facebook account with hundreds of thousands of followers, a Twitter account, and Instagram.
So I asked the one messaging me, “by the way, are you on Instagram? ”
“No.”
Bro, the actual woman has almost 200,000 followers on Instagram!
For crying out loud, don’t they know by now that I am someone who does research?
I mean seriously, when are they going to quit?
