Adidas, BG Group, BMW, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, General Motors, General Electric, LG, KFC, Microsoft, Nestle, Pepsico, Proctor & Gamble, Samsung, and Unilever; are just a few of the massive multinational corporations invested in Myanmar. They are complicit in the severe oppression of the Muslims and the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingyas in Arakan because, quite simply, they have the power to stop it, and don’t.
It would be perhaps the most effective strategy for activists to begin exerting pressure on these corporations, and others, both inside Myanmar and internationally, to demand that they intervene with the government to stop the violence, and secure the rights of the persecuted.
